Location

Ramsbottom is set in the spectacular countryside of the West Pennine Moors, and as well as a growing tourist destination it is gaining a reputation for design- orientated shopping with a unique list of independent retailers.

If you are a foodie then Ramsbottom needs to be on your list of things to do. For a small town there are many great places to eat as my waistline and bank balance will attest. It is a well stocked with places to eat and drink and is established on the foodie map featuring award-winning restaurants and eateries.

It is also a great location for hikers and bikers as you can be out in the hills within minutes. Even if you’re not a serious walker an amble up to Peel Tower is worth it as the views, especially from the top of the tower, are wonderful. There is a nice pub at the bottom of the hill for a restorative drink.

How to find us

By Car:
Ramsbottom is approx 30 minutes drive from Manchester, 20 minutes from Bolton and 15 minutes from Bury. It is just off Junction 1 of the M66.

At junction 1 take A56 exit to Ramsbottom. At the junction turn right onto Walmersley Rd (A56).
After approx 1 mile, at the traffic lights, turn left onto Bury New Road.
Continue onto Peel Brow and then Bridge Street crossing the railway track.
At the traffic lights near ‘the urn’ turn left onto Bolton Street.
Church View House is approx ½ mile from the town centre on the right hand side opposite St Andrews School.

By Rail:
East Lancashire Steam Railway runs from Bury to Ramsbottom Station. Trains run weekends and Bank Holidays all year round and Wed – Sun from May to Sept. We are approx 15 mins walk from the station but it is all uphill so you might need a hand with your bags.

By Tram:
Trams run from Manchester to Bury regularly all day, every day.

By Bus:
472/474 to Ramsbottom from Bury Interchange runs regularly all day, every day. There are bus stops within 50 metres of our front door.

By Bike:
Might get a little tricky as there are some hills to climb to get here but we have bike storage and hot baths to soothe those aching muscles.

Parking

Church View House does not have private parking and Ramsbottom can become busy at weekends and during the summer. There is on street parking available on Garnett Street and Dundee Lane or you could try St Andrews Church car park or The Mason’s Arms. If you need to drop your belongings off then there is an alleyway next to the house where you can pull in so we can give you a hand.
